Christina Lake Pedestrian Bridge

The Christina Lake Pedestrian Bridge project involved the fabrication and installation of a new 64 m single-span aluminum pedestrian bridge spanning Christina Creek at Kimura Road in Christina Lake, BC. The bridge was engineered by Pennco Engineering in collaboration with the design and fabrication team at Interior Marine Construction Ltd., resulting in a unique long-span aluminum structure that required careful coordination between engineering, manufacturing, transportation, and installation activities. Interior Marine Construction Ltd. was responsible for the fabrication and installation of the bridge, as well as construction of the supporting infrastructure, including steel pipe pile foundations, precast concrete abutments, reinforced soil retaining walls, and gravel approach paths. The project required specialized marine and heavy civil construction expertise to safely transport, handle, and erect the large-span bridge while working within the environmental and logistical constraints of the creek crossing. Through close collaboration between the engineering and construction teams, the project successfully delivered a durable, low-maintenance crossing that showcases Interior Marine Construction's expertise in the design-build and installation of complex aluminum bridge structures.
